Lovers Leap NEW LOWER PRICE
1. Mark Turmell v2.0  2. Fingers  3. She Doesn’t Mean A Thing To Me Tonight  4. I Love You Goodbye  5. BBW [Chunky Girl] (Bryk/Burley)   6. Spadina Expressway  7. Bound To Be Happy  8. The Letter Home  9. But This Time  10. Memo To Myself  11. Big Things Like This (Dana Baitz)  12. Forgiven  13. ...and Now Our Love is Dead

All songs written by Dan Bryk except where noted. The label says “A product of Dan Bryk.” Some would argue that Bryk is taking waaaay too much credit there, and they would totally be right. Mixed by Jim Rondinelli (of Odds, Sloan, Wilco fame) and at least that’s indisputable.

Dan’s widely-acclaimed American debut, winning hearts and minds everywhere with his singing and songwriting prowess (and kick-ass T-dot band). Out of print for over five years, we've sold out of our Scratchie CDs but now have a handful of the Canadian Teenage USA pressing (with slightly different artwork) exclusively for sale from this site. TONS more Lovers Leap info can be found on Dan’s legacy site.

All songs written by Dan Bryk except where noted.

7” EP originally released by Canadian label Eutectic Records.  Three contextually inappropriate outtakes from Lovers Leap pressed into sweet green vinyl.  We have one box left at the UMshop, so as they say... supplies are limited.  After that you’ll have to settle for digital downloads (we have plenty of other goodies in mind for the Lovers Leap bonus tracks!) or a perhaps even a “Barbed Wire Kisses”-type singles remixes and b-sides cash-in some day.

FYI, we sent iTunes Music Store a version that included an exclusive booklet with original artwork, liner notes, lyrics and photos. We used their specs for e-booklets and everything. They didn’t use it. No explanation or anything. We wasted an afternoon putting the damn booklet together and it was just sitting on our hard drive, so if you promise you actually bought the EP, here’s the link to the booklet.

Perhaps the less said about this one the better.  Destined to be a treasure for completists and a cipher for the undecided.  The songs themselves are generally pretty great (despite the presence of regrettable “stalking”, “drinking”, and “fucking one’s ex-girlfriend’s best friends” songs) and three of them were ultimately purloined for “Lovers Leap”.  Dan Bryk, Asshole is essentially the sound of studio inexperience and undeveloped focus.  Nice title, though.  In the divine words of Jon Brion, “you gotta start somewhere.”

We don’t sell this directly, Pop-Up does. The A-side received a 4-star track review from Pitchfork. The B-side only got 3 and a half stars, but we can guarantee you it will be the first and last time you will hear “Customs Card” rhymed with “Jacquard” and “Riyadh.” Riyadh, yeah!
